Megabot’s debut album, The Future ...is not what it used to be, is a genre-hopping journey powered by robo-vox and a freewheeling approach to songwriting.

Matthew Baker, the creative force behind Megabot, is a musician from Orange County, California. Growing up in the ‘90s, he spent much of his youth experimenting with 4-track recorders and synthesizers, and later studied classical piano and music composition in college.

Influenced by his dad's record collection, the OC music scene of his childhood, and an appreciation for all things weird, Matthew’s music is a blend of everything he loves.

“I’ve always admired artists who push boundaries and make music that feels authentic, whether people love it or don’t quite get it,” Matthew says. “With this album, I wanted to capture that same authenticity—making music that’s true to myself, without stressing about how others might perceive it.”
